  1. do NOT have any COVID-19 symptoms and/or recent exposure to someone with COVID-19, and wish to confirm a negative result for travel, or return to work or school, AND
  2. do NOT have an order from your healthcare provider.

If you have an order from your healthcare provider for this testing, please use that order and schedule a COVID-19 - No Symptoms appointment.

Additional Information

As this self-ordered option is not covered by insurance or the government, payment of $100 can be made when ordering the test, or can be collected at time of service.

COVID-19 Antibody Testing

Order this test if you:

  1. wish to gain insight into your immune response after exposure to COVID-19 AND
  2. do NOT have an order from your healthcare provider.

If you have an order from your healthcare provider for this testing, please use that order and schedule a COVID-19 Antibody Testing appointment.

Additional Information

Detection of IgG antibodies may indicate prior exposure to COVID-19. For the most accurate results, COVID-19 antibody testing is recommended at least 10 days after exposure to COVID-19 or the onset of symptoms to allow for the development of IgG antibodies.

The IgG antibody test provides insight into an individual’s immune response after exposure to COVID-19 but is not intended for diagnosis of active infection. Please consult with a healthcare provider for appropriate testing if you believe you have an active infection.

As this self-ordered option is not covered by insurance or the government, payment of $75 will be required prior to sample collection and can be prepaid when you order online or paid at time of service.

Understanding SARS-CoV-2 RNA (COVID-19), Qualitative, NAAT Results:

Diagnostic molecular tests are used to directly detect the presence of the virus, rather than the presence of the body’s immune response, or antibodies. By detecting viral Ribonucleic Acid or RNA, which will be present in the body before antibodies form, these molecular tests can tell whether someone has the virus very early on and whether they are infectious.

The Sonora Quest Laboratories test for COVID-19 is a qualitative, molecular test to detect RNA from SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19. This test has been authorized by the FDA under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for use by authorized laboratories.

A Detected result is considered a positive test result for COVID-19. This indicates that RNA from SARS-CoV-2 was detected, and the patient is infected with the virus.

A Not Detected test result for this test means that SARS-CoV-2 RNA was not present in the specimen above the limit of detection. A negative result does not rule out the possibility of COVID-19 and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment or patient management decisions. If COVID-19 is still suspected based on exposure history together with other clinical symptoms, re-testing may be considered.

An Inconclusive result could be due to a sample with viral concentrations near the limit of detection of the test, or other factors or interference may have affected the ability to interpret the results. An additional sample collection may be considered.
